Satisfied customer speaks: La Lau Conceptstore

Since 2023, La Lau has been located on Grootestraat in Oldenzaal. This fresh concept store sells products that are often hard to find anywhere else. The unique shop is run by the enthusiastic twenty-something Laury van der Zande and her team of 10 employees. “I consciously started a concept store because it gives me the space to sell all the fun things that come my way. For example, you can now find perfumes, skincare, jewelry, travel items, and home accessories in the store. I’m always actively searching for new brands and products — it’s rare that I sit down to watch Netflix in the evenings. In addition, representatives regularly visit. Because I’m strong on social media, more and more great brands, such as Marie Stella Maris and Olcay Gulsen Beauty, want to collaborate with me.

Hundreds of sales per day via social media

La Lau has over 34,000 followers on Facebook and more than 110,000 on Instagram. That number continues to grow every day on both platforms. “I sell a lot through social media — on average, around 100 packages go out daily. Thanks to StoreKeeper, that online sales process runs very smoothly. People can message or call us, and we ask for their name and email address. It only takes us about 30 seconds to take an order. After that, the software handles the rest. The customer automatically receives an order request in their inbox and can pay for the order immediately via StoreKeeper Payments. Once the payment is completed, we receive a notification and can prepare the package. StoreKeeper also integrates with our postal service MSG. As soon as MSG picks up the package from us, the customer automatically receives an email via StoreKeeper with the track & trace code.”

Time savings by switching from receipt books to StoreKeeper

Laury is also very satisfied with StoreKeeper’s POS system. “At first, I worked with receipt books for a while, but I quickly switched to StoreKeeper. The system is fast and super easy to use — honestly, anyone can work with it. We simply tap on the iPad whether the customer wants to pay by card or cash, the payment goes through the mobile card reader, and a receipt prints out. The system also saves me a lot of time compared to the receipt books. Previously, at the end of the day, I had to manually total all receipts to calculate the day’s revenue. With StoreKeeper, the total daily revenue, the sales per colleague, and the store’s results versus online sales are all visible at the click of a button. My accountant even has their own login, so they can immediately see the cash and card transactions as well as which packages have been shipped. That saves a lot of administrative hassle.

New: the La Lau webshop

Soon, La Lau’s webshop, developed by StoreKeeper, will go live. “Sales through social media are going very well and take up very little of our time, so that’s my preferred channel. I will also continue to sell unique items exclusively in the store and via social media. But a webshop is, of course, open in the evenings as well, making it a 24/7 sales channel for products I always have in sufficient stock, such as perfumes and makeup. StoreKeeper has created a great setup, and the webshop will look fantastic. And of course, the online shop will be linked to the in-store system. I’m curious to see what it will bring!
